All Sessions include daily quiet reading time, gardening, outdoor play, and Montessori Practical Life activities. Below is a sampling of our summer specialists.
Session I (June 14- July 2)
Our first session kicks off with programs to get your children's creativity flowing including art, woodworking, and creative writing.
In week one, Mr. Meyer will return with wood working projects where our students will learn to use woodworking tools such as the square, measuring tape, saw, hammer, hand drill, and vise to create their own project. Students will also enjoy learning to express themselves through creative writing with our Writing Workshop Teacher, Ms. Specht.
In week two, we will be welcoming Art Specialist, Stella Cha from Kidz Workshop, who will be presenting a week of learning about Post Impressionism and art today and lead children in creating their own masterpieces.
In week three, our Science Teacher, Maddie Dineen will be working with our students in the Science Lab and out in our garden on Environmental Science.
Session II (July 6-23)
In week 1 of our second session, the students will learn to express feelings through art and explore different art mediums as they create nature inspired art with our very own Ms. LeEtta Specht our Learning Specialist and Art Teacher.
In week 2 of our second session, we welcome YoungWhizs STEM specialists during week two. In this session, students will learn to combine coding and building with Legos. By exploring LEGO® bricks using coding software for inspiring STEM projects, children can experience and understand the building blocks of a real world environment.
Session III (July 26- August 13)
In week one of our third session, the students will return to the Science Lab with Science Teacher, Maddie Dineen.
In week two, Stone Soup Theatre specialists will lead our students in drama games, acting exercises, and a staged performance of Anansi the Spider. We will conclude with an outdoor performance for our parents.
