Emergency Weather Information for Bellevue Montessori School

With snow in the weather forecast, it is important that families are aware of any school late starts, closures, or early dismissals that may be announced in case of unsafe driving conditions.  Bellevue Montessori School always looks to Bellevue Public Schools in making decisions concerning changes in our schedules.  However,  all closures will be made separately for Bellevue Montessori School and can be found in all radio and TV station announcements or at http://www.mynorthwest.com. We try to post any closures or late starts before 6:30 am and follow up with an email before 7:30 am.  Here are the four possible announcements that may be posted.

One hour late start – If we open one hour late, all three campuses would open at 9:30 am.  There would be no early morning care.

Two hours late start – If we open two hours late, all three campuses would open at 10:30 am.  Toddler and Early Childhood half day students would be advised not to attend due to the limited morning work period and immediate pick-up.

School Closed – No School.  No after school programs.

Early Dismissal – All morning students would be picked up at their regular times.  Dismissal time for School Day and After School students would be announced.  All after school programs would be cancelled.  If the weather changes suddenly and an early dismissal is announced during the school day, we will also send a text alert to those parents who have included a cell phone number in the QManager sign-in system.

While we have hired a service to clear our drive-ways, parking lots, and front sidewalks, please use extreme caution when driving on school grounds during icy weather.  Please be patient with other drivers as they navigate the slippery roads particularly the entrance driveway that goes up the hill to the Main Campus.

Snow can be fun, but can also be dangerous.  Please make sure your child is dressed in layers and comes to school with a hat and gloves during these colder days.  We appreciate your assistance in making these weather events safe and happy for your child.
